RAM Mounts' ball-and-socket system is the universal standard for mounting fish finders, phones, cameras, and accessories on boats, kayaks, and ATVs. Here's what you need for a clean, adjustable fish finder mount.
Clamps to any 7/8" to 1" rail — no drilling required. Adds a 1.5" ball for attaching an articulating arm. Universal for most small to mid-size fish finder heads.
The articulating arm between two ball mounts — positions the head unit at any angle. Medium arm covers 4.5" extension, long arm covers 9.5". Match arm length to your installation.
Flush-mount base that drills to the console top — the most permanent, most stable installation. Requires drilling but produces the cleanest look.
Manufacturer-specific quick-release cradle that mates to a standard RAM ball — lets you remove the head unit in seconds for storage while leaving the mount installed.
1-Inch vs 1.5-Inch Ball Systems
RAM uses two primary ball sizes: 1-inch (B-size) for lighter accessories under 3 lbs, and 1.5-inch (C-size) for heavier accessories up to 6+ lbs. Fish finder heads (7–12 inch units) use the 1.5-inch C-size system. Kayak accessories and small phone mounts typically use 1-inch. Make sure all components in your mount system use the same ball size.
